A. Paul P. Loftus, B.Comm., B.A., M.Sc., F.I.C.B. |
Paul Loftus is a Montreal-based Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, an Intercultural Consultant and a Freelance Journalist. He is a leader of seminars in several areas related to dealing effectively with others, oneself, and one’s organization. He has conducted seminars across Canada, and in the United States, Bermuda, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Iceland, Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong and Australia.
Over the last few years, Mr. Loftus has earned an excellent reputation for his work in Performance Management; Time and Productivity Management; Assertiveness Training; Stress Management, Selection and Retention Techniques; Business Writing; Effective Presentation Skills; Successful Media Interviews; Managing Diversity; Conflict Resolution; Effective Negotiation Skills; Professional Development for Executive Secretaries and Administrative/ Personal Assistants; and Dynamics of Management – many skills-oriented areas including communication, situational leadership, feedback, analyzing performance problems, motivation, and conducting effective meetings.
In his capacity as an Industrial Psychologist, he has appeared on CBC TV’s current affairs program “Take 30”; CFCF TV’s talk show “Montreal AM Live”; ZBM Television in Bermuda; CBC’s radio program “Home Run”; and has been interviewed by The Globe and Mail, The Gazette (Montreal), The Montreal Downtowner, Verve Magazine and Chatelaine in Canada; The Sunday Telegraph and Executive PA of London, England; The Royal Gazette and The Mid-Ocean News, Bermuda; Berita Harian and The Star, Malaysia; and Bisnis Indonesia, Indonesia. He has also appeared on CBC’s talk show “Geraldine”, and co-hosted a community television program in Montreal for 25 years. Mr. Loftus has had many articles published, and has recently completed co-writing a book on time management titled “ Time Well Spent: Getting things done through effective time management”. He is also a well-known speaker and has had speaking engagements in Canada, the USA, the UK, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Ireland.
Mr. Loftus graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland, with a B.Comm., and from Concordia University in Montreal with a B.A. in Psychology. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Lamar University, Texas. He also holds an F.I.C.B. (Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers), and received an A.I.B. (Associate Insurance Broker) from the Insurance Brokers Association of the Province of Quebec. Mr. Loftus holds a Certificate in Journalism from Concordia University and is currently completing a Certificate in Public Relations at the same institution. He is a licensed Industrial/Organisational Psychologist in Quebec.
Mr. Loftus is a Director, Immediate Past President and Co-Founder of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Montreal Chapter. He is also the Co-founder and a Director of the Montreal Trainers’ Group and Vice President of The Montreal Press Club. His other professional affiliations include membership in the Quebec Association for Lifelong Learning (of which he is a former President), The British Quebec Business Coalition, The Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, New York, The Canadian International Council, The American Society for Training and Development, The American Management Association, The Society for Human Resource Management, The Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research, The Quebec Writers’ Federation and others.
