Background


Paul has lived in Ireland, the U.K. the US and Canada. He has conducted seminars in the following countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sudan, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

 

In addition, he has spoken at international conferences in Canada, the USA, the UK, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Ireland.

 

Experience


His strong intercultural business experience and his large international clientele help him empathise with an intercultural audience and has lead to international recognition. As an intercultural consultant and coach his wide client base crosses many industries and professions. He has had numerous articles published in international magazines and journals. He has also been interviewed by the press in countries around the globe and has appeared on television in Canada, Bermuda and France.

 

Through his own company, Paul Loftus & Associates Inc. and in association with a number of leading intercultural consulting firms Paul has conducted cross cultural training programmes for such organisations such as Motorola, UNESCO Institute for Statistics, JP Morgan, ALCOA, Bell Helicopter (Textron), Imperial Tobacco (British American Tobacco), Beckman Coulter, Stryker, Hewlett Packard, Saudi Arabian Basic Industries, Merck, Sanofi, Bombardier and Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Government of Ireland. He has been an intercultural resource consultant for American Express Bank and Bank of America. He has conducted intercultural coaching session for Rio Tinto and Pfizer.

 

Paul has conducted seminars for such multicultural organisations as: the United Nations in New York, ESTEC/ESA (European Space Agency) in the Netherlands, EUTELSAT (European Telecommunications Satellite Organisation) in France, IATA (International Air Transport Association) in Montreal and Singapore, and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) in Montreal.

 

Education


Paul graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland, with a B.Comm. and from Concordia University in Montreal with a B.A. in Psychology. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Lamar University, Texas. He also holds an F.I.C.B. (Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers), and received an A.I.B. (Associate Insurance Broker) from the Insurance Brokers Association of the Province of Quebec. Paul holds a Certificate in Journalism from Concordia University and is currently completing a Certificate in Public Relations at the same institution. He is a licensed Industrial/Organisational Psychologist in Quebec.

 

Memberships


Paul is the Co-founder, a Director and Immediate Past President of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Montreal Chapter. He is also the Co-founder and a Director of the Montreal Trainers’ Group and Vice President of The Montreal Press Club. His other professional affiliations include membership in the Quebec Association for Lifelong Learning (of which he is a former president), The British Quebec Business Coalition, The Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, New York, The Canadian International Council, The American Society for Training and Development, The American Management Association, The Society for Human Resource Management, The Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research and others.
